OBJECTIVE
Partner with Rakuten to renew their jersey badge agreement for a historic amount
BACKGROUND
Rakuten had been the Golden State Warriors' jersey badge partner since 2017. With the deal slated to end in 2022, the Warriors wanted to resign Rakuten to an extension of this partnership. We presented to Rakuten's leadership group two decks: one that demonstrated the value the partnership had brought Rakuten in achieving its business objectives, and another that showed how the partnership would expand over the next five years to meet Rakuten's new businses objectives.
APPROACH
I needed to develop a look and feel that conveyed the scope and impact of the partnership. I settled on a collage style on the cover and throughout the deck that showed the Rakuten jersey on the dozens of Warriors jerseys on which it featured throughout the partnership. This was a versatile creative direction, as I edited the collage for the second presentation deck cover to feature other platforms, such as youth development and esports, into which Rakuten could expand with a renewal. Between the two decks, I led the creative direction on creating over 100 slides of content. These presentation decks were presented by our leadership team to Rakuten, who agreed to the new deal worth a historic amount.
The initial deck contained hard data and figures that detailed the impact of the partnership on Rakuten's business and social presence. In order to improve this deck from a storytelling perspective, I created vibrant collages to divide each section and give attention to the subject of our extensive data research.

In the second deck, we showcased ways in which Rakuten could expand its scope of interest across our various properties, such as youth camps, our Santa Cruz G-League team, and our various esports properties. Because of this, I edited the cover collage to include cut-outs of figures from these other properties.
