Sam's Club Credit Card Marketing Refresh

OBJECTIVE

Create static and animated web banners, as well as credit card mockups, to support Sam’s Club Credit Card marketing

BACKGROUND

Sam’s Club, a membership-only warehouse owned by Walmart, relies on Sam’s Club Credit Card sales to meet monthly revenue goals. The Creative Content team at Sam’s Club devoted several designers and production artists to update the marketing materials that appear on Google, Yelp, and numerous other websites and apps.

APPROACH

I first designed three reference sizes: 300x250 px for square-like dimensions; 160x600 px for portrait dimensions; and 728x90 px for landscape dimensions. I chose a minimal design that would focus the consumer’s attention on the credit card itself. From these 3 reference sizes, I produced 32 additional sizes to ensure this design was adaptable to any ad space. I also animated the smallest banner sizes to improve the legibility of the type, as the individual frames allowed for larger text. The credit card mockups were a great exercise in the usage of shadowing and gradients to create stylish product mockups. I am proud of this work, because these pieces, with their varied designs and layouts, reached consumers at a variety of touch points in their e-commerce experience.
