YMCA Annual Report 2017-18

OBJECTIVE

Convince prospective donors to donate and support the YMCA of the East Bay by explaining the organization’s impact on youth development and community health in the East Bay

BACKGROUND

The YMCA of the East Bay is an association of 5 gym branches, numerous Early Child Impact locations, and various community partners. Nonprofits, like the Y, use annual reports to secure funding for their mission-based programming. These reports are an essential part of development and fundraising, which made the 2017-18 Annual Report the highest priority for the MarComm team during that season.

APPROACH

Using the YMCA Brand Guidelines, I designed the Annual Report to capture the visual essence of the Y. This meant a friendly, welcoming tone conveyed through soft rounded rectangles, Cachet font, and a bright color palette. These design elements manifested themselves in infographics that detailed organizational funding, as well as personal storytelling pages that humanized the Y’s impact in the local community.
